I thought so too, but apparently no. I think it's the black and white that is misleading. But according to Wikipedia the show aired on ABC from September 16, 1963 to January 16, 1965.
And Alex, please don't start writing about 8 legged aliens, ok? Once scared shame on me! Twice scared still shame on me!!! That WAS A powerful scene on the Incredible shrinking man! Big spider! Don't step on nails you hairy bugs!
There was one movie from the 50's/60's about a man who kept shrinking (Incredible Shrinking man?) And his fight with the spider kept me up a few nights looking for creepy 8 legged crawlers! The special.effects on that show were AWESOME! I just hope they got lots of the credit for a job very well done!!!
Yep, that's definitely "The incredible shrinking man." It was directed by Jack Arnold in 1957, based on a script by Richard Matheson and Richard Alan Simmons, itself based on a novel by Matheson (simply called "The shrinking man").
The Outer Limits in 1950s.
